A 38-year-old man has appeared in court accused of assault and making a threat to kill.

John Paul Coyle, of Crawford Square, is further charged with causing damage to two plant pots.

The offences relate to an alleged incident on October 7.

An ivnestigating officer told Derry Magistrate’s Court he believed he could connect the 38-year-old to the charges.

Defence solicitor Eugene Burns said a full file would be required in the case.

Coyle was released on continuing bail to appear in court again on January 14.

As part of his bail conditions the 38-year-old is banned from contacting the alleged injured party or going within the vicinity of the man’s home.
