A 22-year-old man allegedly posed as a model’s agent and tried to get teenage girls to pose naked for him.

Scott Joseph Tootill, of Meadowvale Park, Limavady, appeared at the local magistrates court charged with five counts of inciting a child to be involved in pornography between March 17 and April 14.

He is further charged with arranging or facilitating the commission of a sex offence against a child.

An investigating officer told Derry Magistrates Court she believed she could connect Tootill to the charges.

She said police believed that Tootill set up a website and posed as a model’s agent called Sandra Green. He then allegedly used a social networking site to contact girls between 13 and 15 in the Limavady area and claimed he was a photographer working for the agency.

The officer said that Tootill allegedly asked five different girls to pose topless or in their underwear for him and that he arranged to meet one 15-year-old girl.

It was claimed that as the teen met with him, she was receiving messages from Sandra Green telling her they wanted photographs of her naked and “doing dirty stuff” and the 22-year-old would take a sample photo on his mobile phone.

The officer said the girl received another message telling her if she was uncomfortable with this they could remove her face from the photos.

Tootill was arrested in March in relation to the allegations and was released on police bail, on condition that he did not have any contact with girls under 18 and did not access the internet.

However, on April 14 a new webside for Sandra Green Modelling Agency was set up and he was further arrested.

During police interview, the 22-year-old allegedly admitted setting up the website and admitt ed having the intention of photographing them.

But it was claimed that he changed his version of events several times and at one stage said he was “frightened” of going to prison.

Defence barrister Eoghan Devlin told the court there would be no application for bail.

Tootill was remanded in custody and will appear in court again via videolink on May 5.
