Accused of child sex offences

A 60-year-old man has appeared in court accused of child sex offences.

The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the complainants, faces a total of ten charges allegedly committed between January 1973 and January 1981.

They include indecent assault and gross indecency with or towards a child.

A defence solicitor accepted there is a prima facie case for the 60-year-old to answer.

The defendant was released on his own bail of £500 and ordered to have no contact with the alleged injured party’s.

He will appear at the crown court for arraignment on August 28.
