Accused of ‘hostile’ assault

A Rosemount man has appeared in court charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Diarmuid McLaughlin, of Stewarts Terrace, is further charged with disorderly behaviour on licensed premises and possessing cocaine and cannabis.

The charges relate to an alleged incident at Da Vinci’s on April 6.

Derry Magistrates Court heard claims that this alleged incident was ‘aggravated by hostility’.

An investigating officer told the court he could connect the 27-year-old to the charges.

McLaughlin was released on continuing bail and banned from having any contact with the alleged injured party or any witness.

He will appear in court again on July 31.
