Appeal over Derry hijacking

Police in Derry have appealed for information after a masked man hijacked a florist’s van.

A PSNI spokeswoman says the masked man walked into a flower shop on Westland Street in Derry shortly before 10pm on July 12.

“He demanded keys to a van that was parked outside and then made off in the vehicle towards the Lecky flyover. The van, registration ONZ 5123, was then set on fire.”

Anyone who was in the area and could help police with their enquiries is asked to contact the PSNI on 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
