Arrest in dissident investigation

Detectives from Serious Crime Branch investigating dissident terrorist activity in the Derry area have arrested a 35-year-old man in the Creggan area of the city.

Detective Superintendent Kevin Geddes from Serious Crime Branch said the suspect was arrested in an operation this morning and has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning.

Police searched two properties in the city this morning and removed a number of items for examination.
