BMX bandits steal cash from taxi

Thieves who made off on a BMX bike have stolen a sum of cash from a taxi in Derry.

A police spokeswoman says the incident happened last Saturday.

“At around 1.15pm, two youths smashed the window of a car and stole a sum of cash from inside the car. One youth was wearing an electric blue hooded top with grey tracksuit bottoms and the second youth was wearing a green hooded top. They made off across parkland on a BMX style bicycle,” the spokeswoman says.

Police are advising motorists not to leave cash or valuables in their vehicles.
