A 15-year-old youth remains in police custody this morning having been detained on suspicion of breaching bail and a number of motoring offences.

On Tuesday night, December 8, the PSNI received a report that a van had been stolen from the car park in Society Street in Derry city centre.

Shortly before 9pm police say the stolen vehicle failed to stop for them at Creggan Broadway and again at Westway. The van stopped at Melmore Gardens after striking a mini-roundabout. A number of occupants of the vehicle then ran off.
