A convicted sex offender has appeared in court accused of breaching a sexual offences prevention order.

Stephen McCrossan, of Kingsmere Gardens, is charged with breaching the order on September 24.

It is alleged the defendant had a ‘computer related device’ which he was prohibited from possessing as part of the order.

An investigating officer told Derry Magistrates Court he believed he could connect the 24-year-old to the charge.

Defence solicitor Derwin Harvey said there would be no bail application at this stage.

He added that McCrossan will be accepting the breach.

McCrossan was remanded in custody to appear in court again via videolink on October 22.
