Broke police officer’s finger

A teenager who broke a police officer’s finger has had a six month sentence suspended for two years.

Alan William Armstrong, of Heron Way, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm on June 28.

The 18-year-old also admitted the burglary of a local supermarket, in which Microsoft points worth £35 were stolen on September 6.

District Judge Barney McElholm also ordered Armstrong to complete 240 hours community service and to pay a total of £800 compensation.
