A Carndonagh man charged with the murder of his parents in October 2014 has been sent forward for trial.
Julian Cuddihy, with an address at Churchtown, Carndonagh, appeared at Letterkenny District Court yesterday.
Dressed in a blue shirt and navy jacket, Cuddihy spoke only to confirm he understood an alibi warning had been issued by the court.
Garda Robert Carey gave evidence of the service of the book of evidence on Cuddihy prior to the court sitting.
Defence solicitor Ray Lannon sought legal aid for both a senior and junior counsel in the case.
Judge James Faughnan sent the accused forward for trial to the Central Criminal Court in Dublin on Monday, January 25th next.
Cuddihy was initially remanded back to the Central Mental Hospital.
However, the conditions of remand were later changed. Judge Faughnan remanded Cuddihy to Castlerea Prison and ordered his ongoing medical needs be addressed.
Cuddihy has been charged with the double murder of his parents, Kathleen and Jimmy Cuddihy, both of Churchtown, Carndonagh on or around October 22nd, 2014.
