A former employee of a parish church has pleaded guilty to stealing over £30,000 from church funds.
Lyndsey Bredin, of Primity Crescent, Newbuildings, pleaded guilty to ten charges of theft by employee at a hearing last month.
At Derry Crown Court yesterday, the 27-year-old applied to be rearraigned on nine further charges and entered guilty pleas.
Over £34,000 was stolen by Bredin, who was employed by Culmore Parish Church as a treasurer, between March 24, 2010 and October 17, 2011.
Defence counsel Ivor McAteer told the court that a repayment schedule will be put in place.
Adjourning sentencing for a probation pre-sentence report to be compiled, Judge Philip Babington said the case ‘quite clearly crosses the custody threshold’
Bredin will appear in court again on April 11.
