Clean up after church damaged

Derry’s First Presbyterian Church has been damaged in a paint bomb attack.

A clean up operation was underway yesterday after red paint was thrown at the Magazine Street church sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Sinn Fein Junior Minister Martina Anderson condemned the incident.

“This attack is in stark contrast to the good work that has been going on in the city in recent times, and in stark contrast to the unity shown by the hundreds of people who attended a recent cross community carol service at the church,” she said.

A PSNI spokeswoman urged anyone with information to contact police.
