CS sprayed and handcuffed

A Derry man raised his hand and told police “I’ll knock the f*** out of you”, the local Magistrate’s Court has heard.

Daniel Campbell (28), 103 Kular Court, William Street admitted offences of disorderly behaviour and resisting police.

Police were responding to reports of a disturbance at Bank Place on July 7. They saw a group of males run off. Police approached the defendant who had injuries to his face and he told them to “f*** off”. He then raised his hands and said “I’ll knock the f*** out of you”. As they attempted to arrest him, he pulled their arms away. An officer used CS spray before handcuffing the defendant. A defence solicitor said his client was injured in an assault prior to his arrest. Campbell was given 120 hours of community service.
