A 49-year-old Derry man who admitted making indecent images of children has been ordered to sign the sex offenders register.

Michael Mullan, of Cooleen Park, Culmore, pleaded guilty to thirteen charges relating to indecent images that were made between August 9, 2005 and May 8, 2008.

Adjourning sentencing for a pre-sentence report, Derry Crown Court Judge Piers Grant said it was “almost inevitable” the 49-year-old would receive a custodial sentence.

Mullan was released on continuing bail to appear in court again on May 17.

The judge also granted an order for the destruction of Mullan’s computer.
