A man has been shot in both legs in a paramiltiuary style attack in Derry.
The man, aged in his 20s, was shot when two men entered a house in Kerrigan Close in the Brandywell area at about 10pm on Monday evening.
The victim has been treated in hospital for his injuries which are not beleived to be life threatening.
Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue condemned the shooting.
“There can be absolutely no justification for this type of action.
“Whatever organisation carried this out, needs to come forward and give a clear explanation for their actions.
“We are in a new era, we are creating a new society for the younger generation and there can be no place for this type of activity,” she said.
