A local solicitor has appeared in court accused of false accounting.

During a brief hearing, McDaid declined to say anything in answer to the charges or to call any evidence on his own behalf.

Defence counsel Ivor McAteer accepted there is a case for his client to answer.

McDaid was released on his own bail of £500 to appear at the crown court for arraignment on November 16.

A defence application for two counsel to represent 42-year-old was granted by District Judge Barney McElholm.
