Police are appealing for information about the theft of a mechanical digger in the Claudy area.

Constable McClay, the investigating officer, said that on Wednesday morning (9th) police received a report that a digger was stolen from a building site at Cumber Road sometime after 5pm on Tuesday.

“The machine stolen is a Hitachi EX30 mini digger. It has caterpillar tracks and a trailer or low loader was probably used to take it from the site,” Constable McClay added.

Information can be given on the police non-emergency number, 101, or by calling the Crimestoppers Charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
