A 38-year-old man has appeared at a special sitting of Derry Magistrates Court accused of disorderly behaviour.
Terence Edward Doherty, of Cedar Street, is further charged with assaulting two police officers on June 5.
The alleged offences occurred less than a week after Doherty received a suspended sentence and was released from prison.
Defence solicitor Eugene Burns said his client had ‘gone off the rails’ in the last week but a place in a residential alcohol treatment programme may become available for the 38-year-old.
A bail application was adjourned until Thursday and Doherty was remanded in custody.
