A Limavady man convicted of criminal damage and disorderly behaviour has been given “one last chance”.

Michael Anthony McDermott (24) of Connell Street was sentenced at Limavady Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday where the court heard McDermott was seen kicking shutters of a Main Street building on April 26. He was warned by police about his behaviour but swore at police, shouting: “F*** off! That’s not my reply to the caution, you p****!” A defence solicitor said McDermott was drinking earlier, left premises and was disorderly. and took his frustration out on the shutters. He said the criminal damage by McDermott was urination in the cell on April 27. Deputy District Judge Chris Holmes fined McDermott £250 for being disorderly, ordered him to complete 150 hours of community service and re-suspended a suspended sentence of four months in jail for three years.
