Drinker jailed after hospital disorder

A street drinker who was disorderly in Altnagelvin Hospital has been jailed for four months.

Joseph McCloskey, of Stanleys Walk, pleaded guilty to being disorderly in the hospital on January 10.

The 45-year-old also admitted disorderly behaviour and possessing a class B drug on December 20, last year.

Derry Magistrate’s Court heard that police had to be called to the hospital because McCloskey had been fighting with a female in the main foyer. He then began to shout abuse at staff and members of the public.
