Drugs seizure in Derry

Police in Derry have arrested a 23 year old man on suspicion of possession of class B drugs and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply.

Area Commander, Chief Inspector Tony Callaghan said,” Officers stopped a car which was travelling in the Ballymagroarty area of the city and have recovered suspected herbal cannabis with a street value of approximately £60k. The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody helping with enquiries.”

He continued, “I would like to praise the work of the officers involved in removing a significant quantity of drugs from the city’s streets and I would also appeal to anyone with any information about illegal drugs to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
