Attacks on Derry’s Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall “disgust the entire community”, the city’s MP has said.

Mark Durkan was speaking after the hall was attacked for a third consecutive night.

Stone work and new doors installed to mark the City of Culture year were damaged by paint in the latest incident.

The SDLP MP said:“I strongly condemn these despicable acts of wanton vandalism.

“Attacks like these are attacks on the entire community.

“It is not enough just to register our disgust and condemnation.

“We want to see people stand up and give whatever information may be of use to the police without delay, so that the small minority who are all too often responsible for carrying out this type of attack are apprehended and brought to justice.”
