Elderly woman robbed in own home

An elderly Derry woman has been left traumatised after being robbed by a gang of teenagers in her own home.

A PSNI spokeswoman says the robbery - in which three jewellery boxes were stolen - occurred at a house in the Millbrook Park area of Derry yesterday morning (July 21).

The spokeswoman says two of the intruders put their hand over the occupant’s mouth during her ordeal.

“At approximately 11.15am three unknown males entered the home of an elderly woman. Two of the intruders put their hand over the occupant’s mouth. The woman was not injured but was left shaken.

“Three jewellery boxes were stolen from the premises, one of which contained a silver necklace with a red poppy attached.

“The first male is described as approximately 16 - 18 years old, approximately 5’8” tall wearing a dark coloured zip up jacket and blue gloves.

“The second male is described as approximately 16 - 18 years old, wearing dark clothing and pink/red gloves.

“The third male is described as approximately 16 - 18 years old and wearing dark clothing. “
