A former director of a local charity has denied fraud charges.

Edward Kerr, of Ashfield Terrace, pleaded not guilty to seven charges of fraud and four charges of forgery.

The 59-year-old also denied four charges of using a false instrument.

The charges relate to alleged funding applications for the charity Seeds between February 2009 and March 2011.

Derry Crown Court heard that evidence in the trial, which is expected to last a week and a half, will be mainly documentary evidence.

The case has been listed for hearing on March 26.

Kerr was released on continuing bail to appear in court again on that date.
