A man who was shouting obscenities during a flag protest has been ordered to complete 120 hours community service.
Stephen Christopher Talbot, with an address in Magheramason, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour on the Limavady Road on April 4. Defence counsel Nicola Rowntree told the court her client began shouting obscenities after someone made a comment to the protesters. However, she said that the 33-year-old’s behaviour went ‘out of control’ and this was ‘no excuse’.
Imposing the community service order, District Judge Barney McElholm said that the only one heard being abusive and using sectarian language was Talbot.
