A 15-year-old has been punched in the face in an unprovoked attack by a gang of men in Derry.
Police have now launched an appeal for information about the assault, which occurred at Crescent Link in the Waterside.
Inspector Declan McGrath, the sector commander, said that shortly after 3.30am on Friday, 26th, the 15-year-old youth was walking past a shop when four men approached.
One punched him in the face and a second man joined in.
The youth sustained nose and facial injuries in the attack.
Meanwhile police are also appealing for information after a man was struck in the face with a glass at Strabane Old Road on Saturday evening.
The incident happened near a public house between 6.30pm and 7pm.
Information can be given on the police non-emergency number 101.
