The remains of the Derry man killed in the Waterside last weekend are to be brought home to his family later this evening.
Funeral Mass for Gerard Quinn is expected to he held at St Mary’s Church in Ardmore on Sunday at 2pm.
Father-of-one Mr Quinn died from injuries to his neck sustained during an incident on the estate on Saturday night.
His twin brother Michael was also wounded in the incident, but was later released from hospital.
Mr Quinn was taken to Belfast for autopsy following his death, and his remains are set to return to Derry later this evening.
The Quinn family’s neighbour and friend, Annemarie Moore, meanwhile has set up a Justgiving.com fundraising page, as a mark of solidarity and to help towards funeral costs.
To date over £600 has been raised, with some of the donors leaving messages of condolence.
One person wrote: “Rip Gerard. Gone too soon. May God help those who are suffering.”
