‘High Nelly’ stolen in Derry

A ‘High Nelly’ bicycle has been stolen during a robbery in Derry.

Police say the bicycle and a raft of garden equipment was taken from a shed at a house in Shaw Court sometime overnight between 7pm on Tuesday, April 17th and 7.30am on Wednesday morning, April 18th.

“The garden tools stolen were a Flymo Lawn Mower, Power Washer, Strimmer and hose. The Penny Farthing bicycle, known as ‘High Nelly’, was an old family heirloom and the owner is appealing to have this returned,” a PSNI spokeswoman says.

If anyone noticed any suspicious activity in the area of Shaw Court on Wednesday night or during the early hours of Thursday morning they are asked to contact Police. Also if anyone has any information on the old bicycle or garden equipment they are asked to contact police at Strand Road station on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
