Man accused of burglary, assault and threat to kill

A 23-year-old man has appeared in court accused of burglary and assault.

Jason McGrory, whose address was given on court papers as The Meadows, is further charged with criminal damage and making a threat to kill.

The charges relate to an alleged incident in the Fernabbey area of the city on April 29.

An investigating officer told Derry Magistrate’s Court he believed he could connect the 23-year-old to the charges.

McGrory was released on his own bail of £500, with one surety of £500 to live at an address in Thornlea Gardens.

He was also ordered to abide by a curfew, banned from consuming alcohol and from contacting the alleged injured party.

The 23-year-old is also banned from entering the cityside of Derry except for court appearances.

He will appear in court again on May 28.
