A 59-year-old man has been acquitted of a wounding charge.
Kieran Edward Joseph McLaughlin, of Elaghmore Park, had denied charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, threats to kill and possessing a Stanley knife with intent to commit an indictable offence on October 8, last year.
The prosecution offered no evidence after the witnesses failed to turn up for the trial.
Derry Crown Court heard that they had made it clear before the date of trial they did not wish to give evidence and police had tried to serve witness summonses on two occasions.
Judge Phillip Babington directed a jury to find McLaughlin not guilty of all the charges.
