A man arrested in connection with a fire at Sean Dolans GAA club in Derry has been released on bail.

The 46-year old man was arrested on suspicion of arson on Tuesday but has now been released pending further enquiries.

Last week the PSNI confirmed that following a review into the initial investigation, District Commander Chief Superintendent Stephen Martin has referred the matter to the office of the Police Ombudsman who will carry out an independent examination of police actions.

Police had intially said the fire was not suspicious.

Police have appealed for anyone with any information about the fire on December 28 to contact them on 0845 600 800
