Man has eye socket broken in Derry assault

A man who was assaulted by a gang in the Creggan area of Derry is to undergo surgery to repair a broken eye socket.

A PSNI spokeswoman said the man, who is in his 20s, was assaulted close to St Joseph’s Boys School in the Creggan around 3.15am on July 21.

The man was jumped from behind by three males and will require surgery for a broken eye socket, cracked jaw and cracked cheekbone.
