Man in court on attempted murder charge


A 44-year-old man will appear at Derry’s Magistrates Court this morning charged with attempted murder.

It’s believed the charge relates to an incident at Summer Meadows Park at the weekend.

The man is also charged with threats to kill, attempted grievous bodily harm, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
