A man who got involved in a fight outside a city centre bar has been jailed for three months.

Mark Anthony Bell, with an address of Lodge Road, Coleraine, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour on May 10.

Derry Magistrates Court heard that police were called to a fight outside the Ice Wharf on the Strand Road.

Bell was seen throwing a number of punches at another man and his girlfriend was also involved in the scuffle.

The court was told none of the injured party’s made a statement of complaint.

However, there was CCTV evidence and the 34-year-old was charged with disorderly behaviour.

A second man arrested at the scene received an adult caution.

Defence counsel Ciaran Roddy said his client has an extensive record, is currently serving a sentence for other offences and is not due for release until May 2015.

District Judge Barney McElholm jailed Bell for three months and made it concurrent to the other sentence.
