Man punched in mouth in Bogside

Police in Derry are appealing for information about an assault on a man in the Bogside area of the city.

The man reported to police on Thursday June 5 at 6.30pm he was walking up William Street, towards the Little Diamond when a male approached him and punched him once to the mouth. The victim was knocked to the ground and the suspect ran off towards Rossville Street. The victim required seven stitches to a mouth wound.

The assailant was wearing a dark blue T-shirt and police are keen to hear from anyone who can identify him.
