Man snorted cocaine in queue

A man snorted cocaine as he was queueing for tickets for a local music event, a court has heard.

Donald Leo Fitzpatrick, of Liscloon Drive, pleaded guilty to possessing the class A drug on August 8.

The 26-year-old also admitted motoring offences relating to an incident on August 2.

Derry Magistrates Court heard that people queueing for tickets for the MTV Crashes event complained to police about Fitzpatrick. They saw him take something from his baseball cap and snort it.

Police searched the 26-year-old and found a small wrap of white powder in his cap.

Sentencing was adjourned for a probation pre-sentence report to be compiled. Fitzpatrick will appear in court again on November 21.
