A 69-year-old man is to stand trial accused of sexually assaulting a girl.
The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged victim, faces one charge of sexual assault on May 4, last year.
The complainant in the case is a girl under 13.
During a brief hearing at Derry Magistrates Court, the defendant declined to say anything in answer to the charges or to call any evidence on his own behalf.
It was accepted by defence solicitor Leonie Keegan there is a case for her client to answer.
The 69-year-old was released on his own bail of £500 and banned from having any contact with the alleged victim.
He will appear at the crown court for arraignment on August 20.
