SDLP MLA Pat Ramsey has backed calls for murder suspect Kieran McLaughlin to give himself up.
The Foyle assemblyman said: “I have spoken to the McLaughlin family who are clearly very distressed about the current whereabouts of Kieran. I want to urge Kieran to contact the PSNI on 028 71 210775 so that he can give an account of his movements. We all want to see a swift and safe end to the tragic events of last week.
“The PSNI have made it clear that they will make every possible effort to ensure ease of passage into Strand Road Police Station. I would urge Mr McLaughlin to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.”
PSNI Detective Chief Inspector Harrison, who is leading the investigation into the murder of 35 year-old Barry McCrory in Derry City Centre last Thursday, made a public appeal to the 58 year-old suspect to contact his officers on Monday evening.
More than one hundred people paid their respects to Mr McCrory as he was laid to rest today following funeral Mass in Galliagh.
