Police are appealing for information following an arson incident involving a number of masked men in the Glencaw Park area of Derry on Wednesday evening.

At approximately 11.45pm, it was reported that three men set fire to a car with what’s believed to have been a petrol bomb. The three men, who were dressed in balaclavas and dark jackets, made off towards the Leafair Park area. No-one was injured in the incident.

Inspector Sam Shearer said: “I would appeal to anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact Strand Road Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
