Police have been granted a further 36 hours to question a man in connection with the murder of Barry McCrory in Derry a week ago.
An application was made at Derry Magistrate’s Court this morning by a detective constable from the Major Investigation Team to question 58-year-old Kieran McLaughlin about the murder of Mr McCrory in a city centre flat last Thursday morning. There was a heavy police presence inside and outside the courthouse for the brief appearance of McLaughlin.
No members of the McCrory family were present in court. The 35-year-old father-of-two was shot dead by a lone gunman while his partner was forced into another room.
