Police are appealing for information about an assault on a man in Derry city centre.

The man sustained facial injuries that required hospital treatment in an incident that occurred in the Bank Place area at about 1 am on Saturday, June 14.

Police are also investigating a separate assault on a man at Shipquay Street at about 2am on Wednesday, June 11.

Police say that, when the man walked out in front of a car, a male inside the vehicle got out and struck him on the face.

When the victim tried to move away in the direction of Union Hall Place, he was pursued by the man and struck a second time on the face. He sustained a fractured cheekbone and a broken tooth.
