Police in Limavady are running a special event on Wednesday, March 14th encouraging young people to take an active part in shaping policing in their area.
Young people from the Dungiven and surrounding areas have been invited to a Youth Reach workshop at the local library to discuss issues currently affecting the community including drugs, alcohol and anti social behaviour.
Those attending will be encouraged to share their views on how police tackle these issues and discuss how we can better work together as a community to make our streets and neighbourhoods safer.
Limavady Mayor, Sean McGlinchey appealed for young people to attend, “This event is an extremely worthwhile one and I would urge all young people in the Dungiven area to attend. We need to progress and move forward in regards to policing and the community and this work shop is another step in achieving that goal”, he said.
This workshop is open to all young people and we would encourage anyone with an interest in their local community to come along. The event starts at 6.30pm.
