A 28-year-old man was arrested following a disturbance at a house in Claudy at the weekend.

He was detained on suspicion of burglary with intent to commit GBH, common assault, criminal damage and making threats to kill. He was later released pending further police enquiries.

Inspector Jonny Hunter said police were called to a house in the village shortly before 4.30am on Sunday, September 7.

He added: “We received a report that a man had burst into a house and threatened a woman who lives there. He appeared to be looking for someone else.

“When officers arrived, they arrested a man outside the house.”
