A 17-year-old has appeared in court accused of riotous behaviour in the Creggan area of the city.
The teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is also charged with damaging a police land rover, attempting to damage a second vehicle belonging to the PSNI and possession of a concrete block.
The offences allegedly occurred on June 6.
An investigating officer told Derry Youth Court she believed she could connect the teen to the charges.
During the brief hearing the defendant spoke only to confirm he understood the charges.
Defence solicitor Paddy McGurk applied for the case to be adjourned for him to make representations to the Public Prosecution Service.
The 17-year-old was released on continuing bail and will appear in court again on August 7.
