This is the house at the centre of an overnight operation by Gardai at Iskaheen where a search for the man wanted in relation to the murder of Barry McCrory in the city on Thursday, was believed to have been hiding.

Despite the presence of armed garda units in the area since 5pm on Friday, the operation was called off at 4am - although a garda presence remains in the surrounding area this morning.

On Thursday, police issued a description of 58-year-old Kieran McLaughlin, the man they want to question in relation to the shooting dead of 35-year-old Barry McCrory.

Yesterday it emerged that Gardai had been asked to help with the search which focused on a rural townland between Muff and Burnfoot.

A garda spokesperson said this morning that they would continue to help police with this investigation, as they would with any other. Meanwhile, the PSNI have reiterated an appeal to the public to come forward with any information regarding Mr. McLaughlin and his whereabouts and have asked the public not to approach him under any circumstances.
