Shop robbed at knife point

A man armed with a knife has robbed a shop in Derry.

Police say the robbery took place in Great James Street shortly after 9pm last night ( Wednesday).

A PSNI spokesman says the man walked into the shop and produced a knife to a member of staff.

He then made off toward the city centre with a sum of cash.

The man is described as being between 18 and 20 years old, between 5’10” and 6’0” tall, of slim build, with dark fair hair.

He was wearing an orange hooded top and had a local accent.
