Shop worker badly shaken after armed robbery

A shop worker has been left badly shaken after an armed robbery in Derry.

Police say the robbery took place in Beechwood Avenue on Sunday (October 7).

“At approximately 3.30pm an unknown male who is described as being approximately 6’ tall, approximately 18-24 years of age, wearing a very light grey hoodie with a distinctive orange/brown hoodie underneath entered the premises,” a PSNI spokeswoman says.

“He was armed with what is believed to be a stick/crowbar type implement. He demanded that the member of staff open the till. He made off with a sum of money.

“The staff member was not injured however she was left very badly shaken.”
