A Derry shop worker has been punched in the face.

The man was working in a shop at Foyle Street when two males wearing tracksuit tops entered the premises at around 8pm on Friday.

Several members of the public gave chase to the suspects into Guildhall Square, through Waterloo Place and onto William Street.

They have appealed for anyone with information about the incidents to contact them on 0845 600 8000, speak a member of the local Neighbourhood Policing team directly or provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
