A number of shots were fired outside a GAA club in Foreglen at the weekend.

Members of the O’Brien’s GAA club were stock taking at around 11.30pm on Friday when the heard three shots fired outside.

Following a police search of the area, two strike marks were found on a blue transit van parked in the carpark of the clubhouse on the Foreglen Road.

No one was injured in the shooting incident.

The police have said they are working to establish a motive for the attack.

The gun attack was condemned by local SDLP colr. Michael Coyle. “Violence has no place in solving problems.

“I would appeal to anyone who has information about the incident to contact PSNI or their local councillor,” he said.
